SCIP (Waste Framework Directive)
About Course
The purpose of SCIP is to disseminate information on the ingredients included in goods that are sold in the EU.
The identification, concentration, and any related authorizations or limits of the chemical are all included in this data.
REACH Regulation: The Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation is connected to SCIP. Businesses that put chemicals on the EU market in amounts of one ton or more annually are required by REACH to register them.
Reporting Requirements: If a product contains substances of very high concern (SVHCs) over a specified concentration level, businesses are required to file SCIP notices.
Data Sharing: The SCIP database is publicly available, giving companies, consumers, and regulators access to information on the chemicals in the items they use or touch.
Benefits: SCIP helps companies and regulators make better decisions by enhancing consumer safety, increasing openness, and improving decision-making.
